Coach, if you’re reading, thanks for caring enough to ask the hard and ugly questions.
The Pessimist
by Kellion Knibb
Amidst the deafening screams of discomfort is space to grow Reflecting on the noise, I find stillness and depth In the pain, I find space to heal, sensing that I will never be the same. Some people get a high from the drama, the chaos And others want nothing more than to come down so we can see more clearly and through renewed lens where we’d been and the nature of who we had to become. There is a calmness that descends once we stop and listen to the fall of our own tears and the sounds of the Mayhem that we wreaked on ourselves. In that calm, we get to reclaim the power that we gave to the pessimist we call our Mind.
