Today’s Poem
An Epic

Some days poems don't come Some days, inspiration’s only a spark— a flicker we don’t even want. Yet, in this space, where silence sits heavy, in this breath between reaching and resting, I reach. Because I know that one day, quietly, suddenly, like rain surprising parched earth, I’ll feel it—a certainty. One day, I’ll see it: my journey as an epic written in the pauses, in the spaces, in the quiet, unwritten verses of days that feel undone. Some poems bear witness. Some, we have to become. Some we meet like friends in familiar places, and others arrive like strangers who remind us of our own faces. So maybe today is just a day to sit by the window, waiting, watching shadows move with the sun, watching as light bends around edges— holding space for the poems yet to come. So I’ll sit here, in this stillness, letting words come as they will, or letting them stay hidden in that secret, silent place. Because I’ve learned: even the days without words are parts of the poem unfolding, the epic waiting, all along.
