Last week, I shared the first offering in my poetry on love challenge. It opened a door—not just to the theme of love, but to a new layer of myself as a poet. This challenge is more than a creative exercise. It’s an act of commitment: to my craft, to vulnerability.
This week, I’m returning to you with another poem.
Today’s Poem
Self-Portrait: Love Is Not Blind
By Kellion Knibb
A snap of the aperture captured the moment I knew, immortalised in a glance of time, fixed on what I hoped was fated for me too. Drawn by reels of authenticity, not infatuated by potential. Lifted by your soul’s delicate touch inspired, affectively, by your desire. To tether to me lends courage, the kind blessed by hearts majestic in capacity Stunned by what you have shown me is no ruse, freed from my fears, amused and enraptured by you, I muse on the light in your eyes. Despite myself I melt, letting the revelation wash over me; I surrender to the wanting. Life littered lightly with everything that matters, drenched in pleasures of slow living, sunrises spent whispering ourselves awake, routines transformed into rituals, a mingling of promises. Moments outside of time smitten by their quiet grandeur moments as big as life willingly, I offer my days to the loving of you.
I dedicate this poem to Chase <3.
